Natasha Haugnesbeth Maher is a Canadian author of young adult fiction. Her debut novel, The Memory of Us, was published in 2016 by HarperCollins Canada. Natasha was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She holds a BA in English from the University of Toronto and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. She currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband and two young sons. The Memory of Us is a young adult historical novel set in London during the Second World War. It tells the story of two teenage girls, Eva and Olivia, who are forced to evacuate their homes in the East End of London and are sent to live with Eva's wealthy aunt in the West End. The girls are worlds apart, but they soon become friends as they navigate the perils of the Blitz. The Memory of Us is a heart-warming story of friendship, love, and survival during one of the darkest periods in history. Natasha's second novel, The Secrets We Keep, was published in 2018. It is a young adult contemporary novel about two best friends, Maddie and Ellis, who are struggling to cope with the aftermath of a devastating car accident that killed Maddie's boyfriend, Liam. Maddie is determined to find out what happened that night, but Ellis is desperate to keep the truth hidden. The Secrets We Keep is a tense and emotional thriller that will keep readers guessing until the very end.
